Some of Ubisoft’s games are eternal. No matter how much ever time you play, the titles look and feel fresh. One such venture of Ubisoft is the Assassin’s Creed franchise. With its revolutionary storylines, gameplay and combating styles, the title indeed managed to deliver a lasting impact among the gamers. And now the developer is all set to unveil the next installment of the franchise under the moniker – Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. The cover arts are out and there is very much less information that we could deduce and share. So, here’s what we know.
Black Flag All set to be hoisted:
Though no much information about the upcoming title is available, what is for sure is that the title exists and is under development. Some of the screenshots unveiled by the developer and some reliable resources claim that the game will be conceptualized upon Pirate adventures. The image depicts the hero; our very own assassin bearing a cutlass and a couple of conventional pistols as weaponry. A recent report also claims that the protagonist in Assassin’s Creed IV will be known by the name Edward Kenway, who is the father of the Assassin’s Creed III’s protagonist Haytham Kenway. So logically, Edward is the grandfather of Ratonhnhaké:ton. Makes sense? Totally!
Also, the game will not pickup from the instances of the final episodes of Assassin’s Creed 3, but will arrive as more sort of a prequel to it. The storyline will be set before the instances of the American Revolution, and will be based on regions surrounding the Caribbean seas such as Cuba, Bahamas and Jamaica.
As far as the availability of the title is concerned, it won’t roll out until October 2013, as the previous title released on October 2012. The game is scheduled to release for Xbox 360, Wii U, and PS3 which will supposedly have an additional 60 minutes of gameplay. There are also talks on the title getting released for the PCs. But the best part is that one of the reports has shared the fact that the game might be available to next-gen consoles as well. Now, how about that?!
So, let’s hope the game retains the essence of the franchise and truly offers the much anticipated gaming experience!
